The Conroy Family
I dream of shoots like this. It’s not just that the Conroy family lives on a beautiful farm but its that they welcomed me to their home and allowed me to capture them as they are in a place that they love the most. I got to spend a beautiful spring evening with them and document the details of them being a family. My goal with my shoots is to simply direct my families into what they already are as a family, not to create something that isn’t real. We explore together, we laugh together, we cry together and everything in between. I have mentioned this many times over the years but if there is one thing that I am not, its a “perfect” photographer. And what I mean by “perfect” is that its okay if there is some hair out of place, or a little bit of mud on your child shoe. I want to see the tear streaming down their face, I want to see the dirt under your kids nails, I want to see the way your kid grabs your face and goes in for a kiss, I want to see your husband throw your kids around and let them be kids. I don’t want to hear “smile for the camera” or have the parents point at my lens so their kids look at me. I want the real stuff. I want to see the way your child looks up at you, the way they are two years old and just want to be free. Its all the good stuff and I feel like I got that beautiful opportunity with the Conroy Family. I cant wait until we can adventure again!
